I always remember my great friend and companion Eldon booking us in to play a golf competition at Knowles golf club near Bristol,(at least I think that was the club,I am an old man now, I was about 27 at the time), any way Eldon was not known for his quick way around a golf course, and as we went out rather late,we finished in the dark,and some time later we found out that Jack(my name for Eldon after Jack Nicklaus,he called me Gary after GARY PLAYER) had one a prize,Eldon had won a golf Umbrella and 12 golf balls,and well deserved,typical of Eldon he gave them to junior players at Southerndown Golf Club,I can honestly say that the memories I have of Eldon from our time to go to Royal Birkdale to see the Open championship and the time he  helped get my cpc endorsment which enabled me to become a haulage contractor were so influential to my life.Eldon  was such an influential importance in my life and showed me the right way to do it,I miss him a lot,and as an old 69 year old man who can,t play golf anymore,I always look back at our time together as the happiest time I ever had on the golf course and in life,if Eldon could help anyone he always did,we won,t see the like of this great man again,sadly missed,regards Ian W Mclaren.
